Client: Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory
Project: Responsive website
The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory came to Akira Studio for a fully responsive website with full screen design, to attract visitors and to promote this unusual venue.
With no financial support from the government, the Conservatory is dependent on admissions, gift and refreshments sales, and venue rental for it’s income, so an attractive online presence is vital.
Akira Studio upgraded their subtle yet distinctive design to be mobile device friendly. It was important that the mobile version allowed images of the butterflies and their surroundings to show to maximum benefit, via a striking full screen header on the home page.
The Conservatory is a stunning wedding venue that offers brides and grooms a unique opportunity to exchange vows amidst free-flying butterflies, lush tropical foliage and cascading waterfalls. Both the PC and mobile version of the mobile-device friendly website include an online wedding brochure embedded directly into the web page. Visitors can 'flip' the pages just like a real brochure, or download to read later.
- Conversion of existing website to be mobile friendly
- Automatic menu conversion for mobile devices
- Retention of existing design with new capabilities
- Smooth rendering of photo galleries regardless of browsing device
- Online store and payment gateway
"We loved working with Tony and his team for our new mobile-friendly site. He worked quickly and efficiently, and no request was out of the question. He really went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our new site. We purchased the monthly maintenance package which is a great value - Tony always has a great response time when we have any questions or inquiries. We are very much looking forward to working with him on future projects."
