Client: Tillsonburg Hydro
Project: New municipality hydro website
Tillsonburg Hydro provides the people and businesses of Tillsonburg with their power, with over 6500 customers in the town and surrounding areas. This electricity distribution company came to Akira Studio for a new website design that was clear, clean and accessible.\
There were three main requirements for the new full screen design:
- Mobile device friendly
- Prominent blog on the home page
- Front page animated slideshow
Mobile friendly website:
With more and more searches being made from mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet computers, it was important that the Tillsonburg Hydro website looks great on both desktop and mobile tech. Customers can also access their e-CARE account on the move, with the ability to log in and check their energy usage, pay bills or compare energy use with neighbouring properties, all from the palm of their hand.
Home page blog:
A blog on the website homepage enables Tillsonburg Hydro to communicate directly with their customers and keep them posted with the latest news. The company has also used the blog to ask for feedback via a short online survey, and to advertise for a new managerial position.
Front page animated slideshow:
Akira Studio created a slideshow for the front page that allows Tillsonburg Hydro to combine attractive images of their activities with direct links to the appropriate page. So, for example, a picture of a new build home is combined with a reminder to call Tillsonburg Hydro before digging to keep everyone safe.
- New responsive website design
- Mobile friendly structure
- Quick links to important pages via clear icons
- Slide images selection and manipulation
- Forms for quick reporting of outages
- Integration of video on "Call before you dig" page
