Client: Ingersoll Chamber of Commerce
Project: new website
Akira Studio Canada started out in Ingersoll, and we still have close ties with the town. So, we were delighted to help the Chamber of Commerce with a new website to replace its ageing and somewhat old fashioned look with one that better reflected this forward-looking Ontario town.
New logo, new colour palette
First, we gave the website a new look, with a new smart logo in blue and green, and a website colour palette to match. The Home page was completely redesigned to feature a full width slideshow, enabling the Chamber to promote its various activities.
The Chamber required much of the original website's functionality to be retained including a calendar of events and a directory member businesses. Akira Studio took the simple listings format of the original members' directory and upgraded it into an interactive map. Users can click and zoom to explore, or take a shortcut to find a type of business, such as Health and Pharmacy, Real Estate or Restaurants.
The result is a visually appealing directory that is also performing well in search engines, giving authoritative online exposure to all the Chamber members' businesses. Members can also sign in and update their own listing.
